Dr. Joanna Woodnutt- Freelance Veterinary Writer

As a child, I wanted to write. I would spend hours poring over books, and when I wasn’t doing that I was making up stories to read to my brother. As time went on I realised a deep love of science, and chose instead to pursue my career as a vet here in the U.K.

It wasn’t long after graduating that I realised I could do both. I love consulting and I particularly enjoy teaching and educating clients, so a career in writing, public education and pet health is the perfect combination for me. I always say that writing allows me to help more clients than just the one standing in the consulting room. I set up Joanna Woodnutt Freelance in order to make those dreams come true.

I have recently reduced my clinical hours which means that I can open up my writing even further. I now write regularly for several publications and am available for freelance work. I can write articles and blog posts on veterinary and pet health topics, adapting my voice to the audience to ensure a close fit with your publication.
